Just noticed something… when someone (not admin) heads something with ‘please read this’, my first reaction on seeing it is to *not* read it. It seems cranky, but when I go and read it anyway, it’s never anything relevant… just that person venting, or writing about someone else.

Hmm…. (I’m not talking about blog posts this time!)

I think ‘please read this’ should be reserved for administrative posts and not for rants.

  1. I have the same knee-jerk response. Too many emails that start out “Please read this!” end with “Please forward this to everyone you know!”

    Bah. Humbug.

  2. Oh yes, the spammy ones! I was forgetting about those. They surely don’t help.
