Apparently these smilies work in WordPress (ie become emoticons).
In my current theme, though, they appear with a wee box around them. Blah.

I like to draw my smiles with a little round nose, like this: : o )
Unfortunately, lots of programs take the eyes and the nose and make it a graphic of a shocked little dude, and leave the smile hanging:
)

I like that face with the nose – it has more humour than the normal smiley.
